Neighbors first, and friends second, we discovered a shared passion for dogs.
One with a marketing background, the other a nurse, we spent years volunteering time to help animals on Indian Reservations throughout the upper Midwest. We assisted at Spay / Neuter clinics, provided healthcare, and delivered food to rural communities. Additionally, we each lived with dogs that suffered from anxiety and aggression and were searching for a deeper understanding of behavior.
We felt compelled to help injured and distressed animals, so we partnered with friends and started a (501c3) medical rescue group emphasizing on the unwell.
While working with these sick and injured animals, we saw mounting behavioral problems arise in the population we served. Through a mix of personal and rescue experience, we decided to further our education in animal behavior and training.
We are graduates of the prestigious Academy for Dog Trainers and studied under the world-renowned author/trainer Jean Donaldson. This rigorous two-year, science-based program, is widely considered the Harvard of dog training schools, and we earned their Certificates in Training and Counseling. As friends and neighbors who still run a rescue, www.actvrescue.org we have now added "business partners" to their long-standing relationship.
